Block Boss™ is designed to fit a bolt. When the bolt is passed through the flanges and the tool it secures the flange faces from accidental closure. Each Block Boss™ is marked for the range of sizes and flange rating. It further protects the flange faces from damage by being bolt size specific. These tools are available individually or in kits. It cannot identically fall out. It can only be removed by removing the bolt. In this way it virtually guarantees the safety of the worker from having flanges close inadvertently. It is especially effective when used with the Flange Boss™ Spreader.

Block Boss™ is for hand protection during flange work. These tools protect the user from from the hazards of accidental flange closures when performing flange work, such as gasket cleaning and blinding. These tools are available in ANSI sizes 1/2″ pipe to 24″ pipe and ratings 150 lb. flanges to 2500 lb
